Both the phones provide better Battery life and on normal use can roughly give us a day easily.As the price matters Samsung Galaxy Note 4 as latest launch is more expensive than Nokia Lumia 1520 but if there is no budget limit then Note 4 is a good choice as it provides a user friendly Android interface which is more customizable than Lumia 1520's Windows interface that is very limited.
Using a smartphone depends on person's need and setup same way when using a phablet, the size of the phone is a smaller concern more than the needs of user. It is important if we choose our smart phones depending on the needs and the budget.
