Samsung Gear 2 Smartwatch - Review

Samsung Gear 2 Smartwatch

Samsung has released the sequel of Gear to the market with irresistible features. It comes with slimmer design, a 1.63 inch Super AMOLED display, a 2MP camera and features on fitness niche. The new design is much sleeker than its predecessor, Galaxy Gear. The weight is 68g, slightly lighter than the original Gear which is 75g. But with a small change it does bring impact to the overall appearance.

Folks will agree that it has slimmer physic on the wrist. Of course it looks better and less bulky compared to former versions. This is of course because Samsung has paid a lot of attention to the most futuristic design possible by moving the camera sensor from the strap to above the display.

Coming with textured rubber material, Samsung Gear 2 is better than its predecessor in most aspects. Folks can agree with this and conclude it is better just by looking at the design for a glance.

You perhaps remember about some critics from fanatics which stated about the brutal looks in the Samsung’s predecessor smartwatch. Fortunately, you will not see any single brutality anymore in this version. Instead, the metal watch face promotes a new delight home button under the screen. Realize it or not, this change makes the device friendlier to operate.

Another nice feature that I can add in this post is the Gear 2 is resistant to dust and water. And so it answers your question how if you need to monitor your activities in nearly extreme condition. Also the heart rate monitor built into the rear of the device, which obviously realizes the most important aspect in monitoring human physical conditions.

Samsung Gear 2 comes with 3 colors choice: Wild Orange, Gold Brown, and Charcoal Black. Well I personally like Charcoal Black since it is unsaturated in my opinion. However, the other color strap options also do wonder in both appearance and prestige.

No matter what, Samsung Gear 2 Smartwatch is adorable, user-friendly and unobtrusive. Wearing this device while you are on hard activities will not burden you at all. Gear 2 is something cool to have. The fitness ability in the shape of pedometer and a heart rate monitor can be good reason to purchase the item. But there are other exercises you can track such as run, walk, hike, or cycle. If you are one of those who have the activities, purchasing Samsung Gear 2 Smartwatch is worth the money.

Specifications: 1.63in 320x320 resolution with Super AMOLED display, it has a 1GHz CPU that is helped by 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory storage. The 2MP camera with auto focus plus a Bluetooth 4.0, accelerometer, and the Tizen OS makes this smartwatch a must have gadget for many people.

Samsung Gear Fit Smartwatch - Review

Samsung Gear Fit Smartwatch - Review
The newly generation Samsung smartwatch, the Gear Fit is a remarkable departure from the original Galaxy Gear. In one single device, it is more than activity monitor as it is smart watch. The appearance is also changed. It comes with slimmer, sleeker and lighter physic.

However, it is also appealing. The curved AMOLED 1.84 inches color display pops against the black watchband. As the user of the device, you are free to change the design, watch face and background color to suit your preferences or appearance. And if you are not satisfied with the current watchband design, you can purchase additional swappable bands in red, blue, orange, green, and gray too.

Some folks avoid this device since beside of its hefty price, they will not be making calls or taking photos with it. Well, that depends on your needs and necessity. But when you connect the Samsung Gear Fit Smartwatch to a compatible gadget (like Samsung Galaxy Note 4), it does notifications. It brings the alerts you can check such as calls, texts, e-mails and even updates from third party applications. Gear Fit lets you to control the multimedia in your Samsung Handset. You can also accept or reject incoming calls with an easy swipe on the device. But not less important is its reliable activity monitor features. The Samsung Gear Fit Smart Watch is integrated with heart rate monitor, accelerometer, gyroscope and pedometer.

Not like common Samsung’s devices, Samsung Gear Fit Smart Watch does not run Android. Instead, it is Tizen as a mobile OS. The company claimed that Tizen OS will bring significant improvements in battery life. In the other side, the Tizen also covers a large app ecosystem with the aid of open SDK – Software Development Kit that will be released on March.

The activity monitoring can track walking, running, hiking, and even road biking. The absolute integrated accelerometer and gyroscope are ones to contribute the feature. It also tracks other basic exercise such as spinning, strength training, yoga, and stationary bike. The nice thing about this device is that the firmware will be updated in the future, but Samsung has not yet given any clue what it might add.

Setting the Samsung Gear Fit Smart Watch is a simple matter. Once fully charged, it can be paired quickly with Samsung handset through NFC. It is compatible with Galaxy S5, S5, S3, and Note 3, and other Samsung smartphones. Of course the Bluetooth range is a matter to cause dropped connection. But the Gear Fit will reconnect itself as soon as your device is on the Bluetooth range.

As the name suggests, Fit fits perfectly on the wrist, thanks to ergonomical design and curve. By noticing the style, fit, usage, and price, Samsung has come with a friendly smart watch that I have seen so far. And considering the fitness niche, the Gear Fit is a must have item for everyone who need smart watch to monitor their activities.

Samsung Gear 2 Neo Smartwatch - Review

Samsung Gear 2 Neo Smartwatch - Review

Samsung Gear 2 Neo Smartwatch is an off-the-grid device that represents the strong movement from Samsung. Perhaps this item is not too intriguing for commoners but if you have got a Samsung handset, Neo Smartwatch is a great companion.

I just thought that Samsung Gear 2 Neo Smartwatch is a weird device. I have a specific reason for this. Not because it is the “smartwatch”, but because it is a slimmer version of the main Gear device. So, hereby I come up with this post about a humble review from me. I personally like the notifications on my wrist. But I must admit the fact that I bought hundreds dollars device to use it roughly in a whole day with a single charge. It needs massive dock to get the power. And I need to acknowledge why a smartwatch needs a camera.

One of the best improvements of Gear 2 Neo is the moved home button. It is now located in the front of the phone rather than spotted on the side of the watch. It is obviously user-friendly since it makes you easier to navigate the device.

The other point that I would like to highlight is the fitness facilities of the Gear 2 Neo Smartwatch. These are definitely the benefits from Samsung this time around. I have not tried the first Gear personally but I’ve seen many reviews that inquire its capability. However, in Gear 2 Neo, I can monitor all the fitness activities through your heart rate the whole time. So now it is possible to go running, hiking, or cycling while my heart rate is monitored.

It also includes the same latter feature just like its predecessor did. The latter feature takes the same size and installing the optical sensor that is usable to see your pulse by shooting light under your skin.

And here is the other winning point. The battery durability is improved marvelously, Gear 2 Neo can splash around in water and dust. The device comes in 3 colors choice: orange, brown, and black. Mine is black and I realized that this is more than just a smartwatch.

The Gear 2 Neo is also cheaper than Galaxy Gear and Gear 2 . It costs $199.99 and you can buy it directly from Amazon. The retailer usually ships the item in 24 hours. As high quality watch and a wearable it is a recommended choice for you.
